Seychelles

Life in the Seychelles is like being on a permanent holiday – provided that lazing under palm trees, swimming in tropical temperature crystal clear water and basking in weather that rarely drops below 25 degrees is your type of thing! Don’t expect first world shopping centres, late night entertainment and Gucci shops on each street corner. Granitic mountains, snow white sand, hotels suitable for royalty and over 115 islands to choose from make this truly Paradise on earth.   Some islands are uninhabited, some Robinson Crusoe types and some so exclusive (and expensive) you cannot even moor your mega yacht and land your dingy on their shores!...

Amanzimtoti

Amanzimtoti is a coastal town just south of Durban – renowned for its warm weather and great beaches. According to local legend, the town got its name when the Zulu warrior King, King Shaka led his army down the south coast on a raid against the Pondos in 1828. While resting on the banks of a river he drank from the river and exclaimed “Kanti amanzi mtoti” which in Zulu means, “So the water is sweet.” A highlight on the Amanzimtoti calendar is the annual Sardine Run which takes place every June or July. This phenomenon is sparked by the entry of large shoals of sardines into the waters of southern KwaZulu-Natal during the winter...

Durban Beachfront - Ushaka

Tyson Properties UShaka is situated at the Durban Point Waterfront – one of South Africa’s most significant and exciting property developments and investment projects. This development is destined to become one of Durban’s most prestigious addresses and a key tourist attraction. The development is a unique ‘waterfront city within a city’ and was triggered by the need for a water reticulation and purification system for Ushaka Marine World and the need to return that water to the sea via a canal. Gillitts

Gillitts is about 35 km inland from the city centre at an elevation of 1800 feet above sea level. Although Durban is semi-tropical and very humid, Gillitts is above the humidity and is not humid, except when it is in the clouds, which generally occurs in summer. It is in the mist belt area, so this area gets a fair amount of mist which many of the residents complain about. It is positioned near the currently burgeoning Hillcrest and Kloof. The whole area is known as the Upper Highway Area as the M13 highway intersects it. While some residents do seem to complain about the mist, it does usually come as a welcome relief to the intense humidity of the area. Gillitts...
